Faribault man harbored fugitive in state Dept. of Corrections home |

Harboring a fugitive is never a good idea — especially when you’re in a home leased by the Department of Corrections and you’re under its supervision. Police say they learned on Wednesday the whereabouts of David Michael Weatherly, who was wanted on a parole violation warrant issued by the DOC on Dec. 27, 2013. He was located at a Faribault property leased by the DOC. Jacob Peter Banks, 21, who was being supervised by the DOC, lived in the house, according to a criminal complaint filed Thursday in Rice County District Court. A DOC agent, accompanied by local police, went to the house around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and asked Banks if anyone else was there. Banks said he wasn’t sure, according to the complaint. When authorities searched the home, they found Weatherly lying facedown on a mattress in the attic, according to the complaint. Read More. |
