The Virginia Department of Corrections needs mentors to help incarcerated juveniles in need of positive guidance and support to become productive adults. The department’s Re-Entry Mentoring Program helps prepare juvenile offenders for successful returns to their communities and is intended to provide the youths with a supportive adult who can offer academic support, guidance and job preparation. The program matches volunteers with juvenile correctional center residents expected to be released within 120 days.
