Closing Arguments Set in MD Prison Brutality Case |

Lawyers are making their closing arguments in the federal prison brutality trial of a Maryland correctional officer. The jury in Baltimore was set to hear summations Wednesday morning in the trial of suspended Sgt. Josh Hummer. He's charged with violating Kenneth Davis' constitutional rights by failing to stop other officers from beating and kicking the inmate at Roxbury Correctional Institution near Hagerstown in 2008. Hummer also allegedly failed to get medical help for the badly injured prisoner. Hummer contends he saw no misconduct when he looked inside Davis' cell as he wandered by in search of a pair of lost gloves. Read More. |
