Center aimed at cutting recidivism set to open in Harrisburg |

Harrisburg will be the home to one of Pennsylvania's nine centers opening this month focused on helping convicts re-enter society and the workforce. The Department of Corrections has awarded GEO Reentry a contract to run the centers designed to address a person's risk of re-offending, with the goal of reducing recidivism. This is not a half-way house. People will report in each day. That's new for programs overseen by the Department of Corrections, according to spokeswoman Susan Bensinger.
