Three guards were recovering Thursday from injuries following a confrontation with inmates inside the state’s Gowanda Correctional Facility. The Department of Corrections said Thursday that a sergeant and two corrections officers were treated for injuries and released following the incident Wednesday at the medium-security prison. Authorities say the confrontation started in a shower area about 8:30 p.m. and involved nine inmates, who now face possible criminal charges. Read More. |
