Oklahoma pharmacy refuses to hand over drugs for Missouri execution |

The Missouri Department of Corrections’ request for a made-to-order drug has been shot down by one Oklahoma pharmacy. The drug was intended for an execution however according to court papers the business has refused to sell pentobarbital or any other drug to be used for Michael Taylor’s execution. Legal documents have asked for a judge to drop the suit that Taylor’s lawyers filed against the Apothecary Shoppe in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Their main goal is to prevent the drug from ever reaching the execution room with it being stated that the drug mix would have made for “unnecessary and inhumane pain”. According to Al-Jazeera America, Taylor's attorney, Matt Hellman, said that as part of the deal, the pharmacy acknowledged it has not already provided any drug to the Missouri Department of Corrections for the execution, which is scheduled for February 26.
