POCATELLO — A new warden of the Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center has been selected by the Idaho Department of Corrections. He is Jeff Kirkman, who has worked with the corrections department since 2001. Deputy warden at the Pocatello women's prison, Lee Ann Hamilton, has been acting warden since Nancy Espeseth was removed from the post following her DUI arrest in Bingham County last October. Espeseth had been warden of the Pocatello women's prison for 10 months and had worked for the Department of Corrections for 15 years. Espeseth pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor DUI charge Feb. 6 and was given a withheld judgement, fined $1,000 and received 180 days in jail which was suspended. Another hearing on the withheld judgement has been set for Feb. 6, 2015. A Nov. 28 charge of driving without privileges was dismissed during her Feb. 6 appearance before Magistrate Judge Ryan Boyer.
