| Sex offender subject of manhunt after disappearing |

A violent, habitual sex offender convicted of raping a child, attempting indecent liberties and repeatedly failing to register as a sex offender is being sought by local and state law enforcement agencies after disappearing from a Denver community corrections facility. According to Roger Hudson, spokesman for the Colorado Department of Corrections, Eric E. Hartwell was at Independence House, a community corrections facility in Denver, but has "absconded" from that facility.
