York City Councilman Michael Helfrich knows first-hand the difficulties a convicted felon can encounter finding a decent job. Helfrich, who pleaded guilty to two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver in 1991, was one of some two dozen people who visited the GEO Reentry Services' Day Reporting Center for state parolees on Tuesday. The center, which aids paroled lawbreakers in a number of areas, including employment assistance, substance-abuse counseling, anger management, life skills and reintegration with families, opened in February at 1 E.
