Injunction removes stun guns from use in Westmoreland County courthouse

Some Westmoreland County deputy sheriffs' holsters are empty because a court injunction banned the use of their stun guns.

But county officials say courthouse safety — one of the deputies' responsibilities — has not been compromised.

“Sure, we're short. But we can still protect the courtrooms,” Sheriff Jonathan Held said.

The county's chief jurist said the federal injunction has had little effect on the courthouse in Greensburg.
