MCFARLAND, Calif. - A private prison contractor has announced plans to reopen a closed facility in McFarland. The GEO Group announced last week that the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation has signed a contract for the McFarland Female Community Reentry Facility on Taylor Avenue. The complex currently has room for 260 inmates – but the company and state plans to double that within a year. Read More. |
