| Rockland jail's phones will tape calls, raise revenue |

Rockland County's jail is getting a new phone system that officials say will raise thousands in revenue and have the ability to record inmates' conversations. Rockland Sheriff Louis Falco said an existing system in use at the Eugene J. Grogan Correctional Center will be upgraded in coming months and fully online by fall. The County Legislature has already approved the measure in committee. The Sheriff's Department provides inmate phone services through the Reston, Va.-based Global Tel*Link Corp., which also handles services for Westchester and Putnam counties, among others.
