| Virginia agency preserves land at four state prisons |

JARRATT — About 3,000 acres at four state prisons in Virginia will be protected from future development. Virginia Department of Corrections Director Harold Clarke says the agency is limiting industrial and commercial development on 428 acres at Greensville Correctional Center in Jarratt, 570 acres at Deep Meadow Correctional Center in Goochland County, 844 acres at Powhatan Correctional Center in Powhatan County, and 1,157 acres at Deerfield Correctional Center in Capron.
