A death row inmate in Maryland has died, apparently of natural causes, said Maryland corrections officials. John Booth-El, 60, died Sunday after staff found him unresponsive in his cell at the North Branch Correctional Institution in Cumberland, said Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services spokesperson Mark Vernarelli. As first reported by The Baltimore Sun, Vernarelli said Booth-El was pronounced dead a short time later despite attempts to revive him. Read More. |
