TALLAHASSEE -- A bill passed by the Senate Tuesday will require the Florida Department of Corrections to verify the authenticity of prisoner release orders involving reduced sentences. This comes after two inmates, Charles Walker and Joseph Jenkins, used forged documents to escape from a prison in the Panhandle last year. Read More. |
