| AG weighs in on Guam DepCor situation |

Guam - The Office of the Attorney General chimes in following recent events at the Department of Corrections. According to a release from the OAG, the agency received a declaration filed in the superior court today relative to the arrest of inmate Alex Castro. The release states the arrest was made because Castro repeatedly punched a fellow inmate in the face and body causing severe bruising. Both Castro and the victim were housed in the halfway house. Castro was arrested on Tuesday afternoon charged with aggravated assault. The release notes that the halfway house is only meant for those who have completed most of their period of incarceration and that it remains unclear why Castro was housed there because he’s only five months into his five year sentence.
