A town of Buffalo constable accused of trying to harm a woman’s reputation by illegally accessing her financial accounts has pleaded guilty to an amended charge of misdemeanor theft in Buffalo County Circuit court at Alma. Buffalo County Circuit Judge James Duvall ordered 51-year-old Jerome A. Gardner of rural Fountain City, Wis., to serve 30 days in jail and two years on probation.
