JACKSON, MI – Except for their attire, 47 men who transcribe books into Braille in Blackman Township look like ordinary office workers with cubicles and computer screens. They wear prison clothes while working eight hours a day for Michigan Braille Transcribing Fund, because they’re convicts. “This is the best job a prisoner can get in Michigan, working the Braille,” said Warden Randall Haas of the Cotton Correctional Facility.
