| Illinois holds event to help female ex-offenders |

CHICAGO (AP) — The Illinois state prison system plans an event this week to help female ex-offenders. The Illinois Department of Corrections' Summit of Hope will be Thursday in Chicago. The program helps former inmates transition from prison by doing things like getting a driver's license, renting an apartment, finding a job and enrolling in education programs.
