| Undergoing heroin withdrawal, jail inmate died from heart condition |

PORT ORCHARD — A Kitsap County Jail inmate who died in December after being found in a cell undergoing heroin withdrawal and with low blood pressure died from a heart condition brought on by chronic drug use. Documents from the jail show an officer voiced concerns about the condition of Christina M. Boshears, 34, who appeared to be in crisis, but a nurse said aside from heroin withdrawal Boshears was not in any medical distress. Boshears, who also had used the last name Jensen, died from heart arrhythmia, with acute and chronic intravenous drug use cited as a secondary cause, the Kitsap Coroner’s Office reported Monday. The arrhythmia was brought on by a thickening of the tissue in her heart and an overabundance of potassium in her blood. Read More. |
