| Steele County Detention Center sees increased revenue in 2013 from state inmates |

OWATONNA — For more than a year, Steele County Sheriff Lon Thiele and jail administrator Ron Hammann have been operating the Steele County Detention Center like a business. And although the detention center’s expenditures were about $2.6 million more than its revenue last year, Thiele and Hammann said 2013 was a success because that was nearly $490,000 less than projected.
