| Risky prison buildings to be leveled |

Asbestos was removed from one of two buildings set for demolition outside Rimutaka Prison last week. Department of Corrections property director Natasha Possenniskie said the former military police buildings were earthquake-prone. The buildings were part of a land swap between Corrections and the defence force in 1997. They had previously been used for office space and storage. Read More. |
