| Dimora sues state, prison managing company for injuries |

MAHONING COUNTY -- According to Mahoning County Common Pleas Court records, convicted former Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora has sued the state Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections and Corrections Corporation of America, the private company that runs the Northeast Ohio Correctional Center in Youngstown. Dimora, 58, of Independence, was housed there after a jury convicted him on 31 counts and U.S. District Judge Sara Lioi sentenced him to 28 years in prison. Dimora alleges that, on May 4, 2012, he slipped and fell in a puddle of water on the floor in the center. Dimora alleges that the water came from a leaky roof that was not fixed. Read More. |
