Given the right kind of help, former offenders can successfully negotiate the difficult journey from incarceration back into society. The right kind of help is what former Midland County Sheriff’s Deputy Rob Worsley had been providing through the State of Michigan Prisoner Re-entry Program until funding was cut and his position in Midland County was eliminated at the end of 2012. Unwilling to drop the many released prisoners he had been assisting, Worsley sought local support and started Midland County Former Offender and Advocacy (MCFOAR) to continue the counseling, job training nd housing services which help pave the way to successful reintegration into the community.
