About 45 minutes after the incident, the officer complained of being light-headed and almost fell to the ground. He was transported to an area hospital, where he was diagnosed with a concussion. Inmate Petillo was subdued and will be placed in the Administrative Segregation Unit. Inmate Petillo was committed to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation on Aug. 29, 1994, from Los Angeles County to serve a sentence of life with the possibility of parole for second-degree murder.
