| Autry State Prison tied to phone scam |

MITCHELL CO., GA (WALB) - A nationwide phone scam is beginning to unravel and investigators believe it was being operated out of Autry State Prison in Mitchell County. A New Jersey sheriff's officer arrested a correctional officer from Alamo, GA and an inmate in connection with the case. Investigators believe an inmate used a cell phone to scam residents in New Jersey out of money. Clarinda Carter, a correctional officer at Wheeler State Correctional Facility in Alamo, and Covian Camp, an inmate at Autry State Prison are suspected conspirators behind the phone scam.
