| Architectural firms to make their pitch for Wexford County Jail project |

CADILLAC — Planning for the construction of a new Wexford County Jail is moving ahead as the board of commissioners has called a special meeting to interview architectural and engineering firms who have submitted proposals. The current 50-year-old jail has only 32 beds, while the county’s needs for housing inmates ranges from 90 to 100 each month. An in-depth study concluded that the jail functions as a holding facility for inmates being shuttled to and from court dates, at significant expense to taxpayers.
