| Inmate dies at Somerset County Jail |

MADISON, Maine — A 27-year-old Wilton man died early Wednesday morning while in Somerset County Jail custody, according to the facility’s administrator. The inmate, Joseph F. Daoust, was being held on drug trafficking charges out of Franklin County, Maj. Cory Swope said in a news release issued late Friday afternoon. Swope said that a corrections officer found Daoust unresponsive during a routine security check shortly before 2 a.m. Corrections officers and medical staff reportedly performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation while Redington-Fairview emergency medical services personnel were called in.
