| Inmate remains hospitalized after stabbing |

A prisoner at the Richard A. Handlon Correctional Facility reportedly was stabbed Wednesday evening at the facility, authorities with the Michigan Department of Corrections have confirmed. The inmate, Curtis Doepel, told health care staff around 7:25 p.m. that he had been stabbed by another prisoner or prisoners, according to MDOC spokesperson Russell Marlan.
