A fire crew inmate walked away from his fire crew Wednesday afternoon, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation said. Lepaul W. Gardner, 27, left a grading project near the city of Mount Shasta, said Lt. Charles Gilmore of the High Desert State Prison in Susanville. Gardner, who was on a crew based out of the Intermountain Conservation Camp in Bieber, was noticed missing at 4:30 p.m. when the crew was preparing to head back into custody. Read More. |
