Rogers County not considering inmate fee

CLAREMORE, Okla. – The Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office wants surrounding police departments to pay a fee for the county jail to house inmates who haven’t been formally charged yet. Now other counties are looking into it.

“I mean at this point it’s not a consideration,” said Rogers County Sheriff Scott Walton.

That’s not to say it isn’t an attractive idea. Walton said he will be the first to tell you his jail has plenty of problems, but that comes with the territory.
