Nearly two years after the first shovel full of dirt was removed in a ground breaking ceremony, Fairfield's nearly-finished Stanton Correctional Facility was dedicated Thursday morning. Gathered in front of the massive the 128,000-square-foot facility — large enough to hold seven football fields — an audience of some 175 dignitaries, county employees and law enforcement officers came together for the 9 a.m. formal ribbon cutting ceremony held at 2450 Clay Bank Road. Named after former Solano County Sheriff Gary Stanton, his father, Lt. William Stanton, and his uncle, Capt. Robert Stanton, the state of the art facility boasts the latest and greatest in security technology and on-site video visiting capabilities. Read More. |
