SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) - An analysis shows there are nearly two dozen inmates who escaped from Illinois prisons or halfway houses over the years and haven't been caught. The Associated Press collected and analyzed prison data for the number of escaped inmates. It also found 11 who were on the lam have been snared in the past two years. Three died while on the loose. The Illinois Department of Corrections says it never stops looking for them or closes a case. Read More. |
