| Inmate with tuberculosis may have infected others |

An inmate at the Pendleton Correctional Facility has been diagnosed with active tuberculosis, potentially exposing about 400 people to the disease. After the inmate tested positive, the Indiana State Department of Health and the Department of Corrections conducted skin tests on 381 offenders, with whom he had contact. The tests show whether a person has been exposed to tuberculosis. Fifty inmates tested positive and will undergo additional testing, such as a symptom screen and chest X-ray to see whether they have the active disease. Read More. |
