New laws mean changes to inmate health care

WILLISTON, Vt. —New legislation out of the statehouse is bringing changes to health care programs at the Vermont Department of Corrections.

The laws were discussed at an interactive town hall meeting at Vermont Interactive Technologies in Williston.

Among other things S.295 allows DOC officials to distribute overdose rescue kits, commonly known as Narcan, to addicts once they are out of prison.
