| Corrections officers honored for saving fire victims |

ALBANY -- Two corrections officers credited with saving four Attica residents from a house fire last year, were honored on Thursday by the state Department of Corrections. Erwin Emminger and Bradley Walters are corrections officers at Attica Correctional Facility in Wyoming County. They were awarded Medals of Merit during a ceremony on Thursday in Albany. On the morning of Sept. 30, 2013, Emminger was driving on Exchange Street on his way to work when he noticed a strange flicker in a house window.
