| Former correction officers convicted of beating inmates |

According to a press release from the justice department, a former sergeant and two former officers at Macon State Prison were convicted on federal charges related to a 2010 beating of an inmate and a cover-up that followed. Ronald Lach was one of several officers at Macon State Prison who participated in a beating of an inmate as a form of punishment for prior misconduct by the inmate. Lach was convicted of violating the inmates rights, conspiring to obstruct justice after the assault and obstruction of justice. Delton Rushin, a former officer, was also convicted of conspiring to obstruct justice and obstruction of justice. Former sergeant Christopher Hall was also convicted. Read More. |
