A court date in the Town of Poughkeepsie quickly turned into an escape attempt that ended with a gunshot. A Town of Poughkeepsie man's alleged attempted escape Monday is under investigation, as is the shot fired to stop the vehicle used in the process. Police officials said the review into the shot fired into the vehicle tire was departmental procedure. Corey M. Farrier, 24, went to Town Court on Monday for typical proceedings involving his arrest on Sept. 4, 2012 for petty larceny. He was on probation with the Dutchess County Department of Probation and Corrections and was appearing in Town Court as part of a violation of probation stemming from the 2012 arrest, town police said.
