| Study: Relocating MRCC ‘not desirable' |

BISMARCK, N.D. -- While it would be feasible to relocate the Missouri River Correctional Center south of Bismarck adjacent to the Youth Correctional Center in Mandan, it would not be desirable. That was the finding of a land use study commissioned during the last legislative session. The study, presented Wednesday to the Budget Section, was approved last session as part of Senate Bill 2015. The North Dakota House of Representatives killed a bill that would have set aside $12 million to move the 900-acre minimum security facility to the west side of the Missouri River. Read More. |
