CHICAGO (STMW) – An inmate of a central Illinois prison died Wednesday morning while on medical furlough in Chicago. Dariel White, 38, was pronounced dead at 9:30 a.m. at University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office. White was on furlough from Pontiac Correctional Center, where he had been held since August 2011 on a six-year-sentence for delivery of heroin, according to the Illinois Department of Corrections website.
