WAUSAU –A Wausau man caught on video punching a Marathon County corrections officer in the head was convicted of related charges Friday. After attorneys in the case reached a plea agreement, Fredrick Morris, 21, was convicted of one count of aggravated battery with the intention of causing bodily harm and two counts of battery by a prisoner as a repeat offender – all felonies. Morris punched corrections officer Julie Christiansen in the head March 27, 2013, inside the Marathon County Jail. Christiansen was hospitalized for months following the attack, and, according to the criminal complaint, another corrections officer also was injured. Read More. |
