A 29-year-old man died Sunday in an apparent stabbing at the Augusta State Medical Prison, officials said. Shannon Levi Grier was pronounced dead about 6:20 a.m. after suffering “probable multiple sharp force trauma,” Richmond County Chief Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose said in an e-mail.
