McDowell County Commission Faces Challenges with WV DOC

WELCH (WVVA)- Jim Rubenstein, Commission for the West Virginia Department of corrections sent a letter to McDowell Commission President, Gordon Lambert stating, "Over the period of time that the county has been operating the facility, there have been many problems with the operations at the facility, the care of inmates and the discipline of staff."

Rubenstein goes on to say that inmates have been forced to wait months for an x-ray, medical orders are not being signed, the treating physician is not insured and when asked for a grievance plan in response to an inmate grievance, a document which didn't address the appropriate issues was submitted.
