BADIN — The former interim head of the Lanesboro Correctional Institution in Anson County has been named administrator of Albermarle Correctional Institution, state prison officials said. Wendell Hargrave will take over operations at the medium-custody facility in Stanly County, N.C. Department of Public Safety spokesman Keith Acree said. Albemarle Correctional houses about 800 male inmates and employs a staff of 300. The prison opens in 1999. Hargrave most recently served as operations manager for state prisons in the Piedmont region. In that role, he served as acting administrator at the Lanesboro and Alexander correctional institutions.
