An inmate who reportedly walked away from Lansing Correctional Facility on Monday was apprehended hours later at Fort Leavenworth, a Kansas Department of Corrections spokesman said. Ronald J. Emons, 52, was apprehended around 4:15 p.m. He had been placed on "escape" status at 10:40 a.m. after he allegedly walked away from a work detail on LCF grounds, DOC spokesman Jeremy Barclay said.
