CHESTERTOWN — The Kent County Detention Center is getting a new warden. Herbert Dennis, a captain with the Caroline County correctional department, has been hired to replace Charles Mench as warden of the detention center, effective Aug. 1. Linda Lannen has served as interim warden since April 16. Originally from Queen Anne, in Talbot County, Dennis attended North Caroline High School, where he was a point guard on the basketball team. In 1988, he began working for the Caroline County Department of Corrections, where he was employed for 10 years before moving to the Delaware prison system as a guard. Read More. |
