| Arizona prisons receive Spanish-language textbooks |

TUCSON — The Arizona Department of Corrections accepted Thursday the donation of approximately 1,600 Spanish-language textbooks from the government of Mexico. A significant portion of the state’s inmates speak Spanish as their primary or only language. The texts are being distributed to Arizona prisons statewide for inmate use in prison education libraries. The books were presented to the Arizona Department of Corrections by the Consul General of Mexico, Ambassador Roberto Rodriguez Hernandez, at a ceremony at the state prison complex in Tucson.
