LANSING — In a development a Michigan Department of Corrections spokesman said was “unprecedented,” four Aramark prison workers at Bellamy Creek Correctional Facility in Ionia were fired Wednesday for having inappropriate sexual contact with inmates inside a walk-in cooler, a department official confirmed. “It’s concerning on a number of levels,” said department spokesman Russ Marlan. The firings came after officials reviewed recent surveillance video, jhe said. The firings mean more than 80 Aramark workers have been banned from prison property for various infractions since the company took over prison food service Dec. 8, eliminating 370 state jobs.
