Miss. corrections commissioner says all 9 inmates injured in fight are back in prison

JACKSON, Mississippi — All nine inmates injured in a fight this month in a private prison in Mississippi are out of the hospital and back in prison.

State Corrections Commissioner Christopher Epps says Saturday that the final three inmates were released this week from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.

The fight took place July 10 in the Walnut Grove Correctional Facility. The prison is operated by a private company, Management and Training Corp.
