Escaped Yalobusha County inmate captured

Officers captured a tired and thirsty James "Jimmy" Peacock this week after the escaped Yalobusha County (Miss.) inmate spent 10 days in the woods of north Mississippi trying to avoid authorities.
Yalobusha County Sheriff Steve Shuffield and two of his deputies were able to capture Peacock without incident near a cemetery in south Lafayette County.
Peacock, who was facing aggravated assault and petty larceny charges, escaped from the Yalobusha County Jail on Nov. 12.
Shuffield and his deputies had chased Peacock ever since he disappeared but had lost contact with him thanks to the escapee's knowledge of the woods in the area.
A tip from a citizen helped lead Shuffield to Peacock and with the assistance of Peacock's family, Shuffield was able to trick Peacock into thinking he was his brother last Monday morning.
Peacock later told Shuffield that the 10-day manhunt had completely worn him down and that at one point during his escape, the search-dog team came within 10 feet of where he was hiding.
Peacock has been charged with felony escape and is facing 10 years in prison for the 10 days he spent on the run in the woods.
He is also facing charges of aggravated assault and petty larceny and could spend up to 40 years in the state penitentiary because of his prior recor
